The high-speed boat “Thunder” came to create history

The ferry “Thunder” started today its daily itineraries on the line Piraeus – Syros – Naxos – Mykonos and return, bringing particularly favorable changes in the arrival and departure schedules of passengers and vehicles, from and to Piraeus.

With its new high-speed ferry, the already successful ferry company FAST FERRIES, which operates on the Rafina – Cyclades routes, brings a twist to the usual schedules of travellers, departing from the port of Piraeus at 12:00, arriving in Syros at 14:45. The ship on its return journey will call at the port of Syros at 18:45 and depart at 18:55, arriving in Piraeus at 21:45. Especially for the summer season, this time schedule is useful both on departure, since those who start their holidays are spared the brutal morning wake-up call, and on return, since the departing passengers gain the whole of their last day on the island!

“Thunder” has been built at the Australian shipyards Austal and is 86.60 metres long. It has four (4) MTU main engines, has a maximum speed of thirty-six (36) knots and can carry up to 1,068 passengers and 210 cars. The vessel has comfortable and luxurious interiors, economy class with airline-style seating with or without table, distinguished class with table seating, comfortable stairs, elevator, three total bars and a shop. Finally, it is a ship friendly for people with mobility problems.
